Missions Ministry
1) ESOL teachers needed: ESOL is seeking adults to share God's love through guided culture-based instruction and conversation.Tallowood has a 57-year history of teaching the English language to new-comers to America, with the end goal of them becoming followers of Jesus Christ. The volunteer-led English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) offers classes every Wednesday morning (9:30AM-12PM) and evening (6:30PM-8PM) during the school year (September-April). We are seeking individuals to help students learn (or improve) English skills in a non-threatening atmosphere.
2) Leaders wanted for Wednesday Night Missions Education: Wednesday Night Missions Education needs volunteers to help train up our children in today's dark world to love others, share God’s love, and pray for others! Each Wednesday evening during the school year, Mission Friends (PreK boys and girls), Girls in Action (girls grades 1-5), and Royal Ambassadors (boys grades 1-5) meet to learn about practical and developmentally appropriate missions experiences.
3) Serve with the Retirement Centers Ministry: This ministry brings worship and praise services to many nursing homes and retirement facilities in Houston. We are currently in need of volunteers who are willing to teach a Bible lesson/preach at least one Sunday per month. We also need individuals that are able to play the piano to help with leading music.
